Mere hours after I didn’t get the job that involved water testing, someone called me to ask if I could test their well water for them. So I didn’t get the job but I can still steal their business.
I’ll meet the guy at Smoky-Drinky and see what he needs. Sounds to me like his copper pipes are corroding which should be looked at before they start spraying out of pinholes. They can do a lot of damage that way before the water soaks through to where it’s visible.
So I’m out tonight. Comment moderation is on because the troll is back. This time he wants an apology (yes, that’s right) because he is the champion of all trollkind and I am an evil trollist. There will be no apology because he is nothing more than a childish arse, and because that will not stop him. It will, if anything, make him worse. He’s not even a troll. He has never commented on the content of any post, he’s just here to shut down smoker talk at the behest of his masters.
He’s worked out that he can log in using a commenter’s Email and bypass the filters. He’ll get your Email at your own site, so those who have no site or who use fake or unpublished Emails are safe.
So he’s all over the place, posting his infantile babblings as me, Junican, Frank, Pat, anyone he can get an Email for. This is the true face of the ASH groupie. A character we all thought we’d left behind when we moved up from infants’ school. Tantrum Kid.
I considered the best way to leave this place troll-free tonight. Frank is using login but that means everyone has to get a WordPress account. I opted for moderation because that still means anyone can comment, it’ll just take a little while to show up.
Anyway, it’s Saturday night and not much happens on a Saturday. There are more antismoker stories in the news, as there are every day, but they are ably covered by those who, coincidentally, are also the target of this ASH-employed cretin.
Enough talk. Drinking time.
Had friends (three married couples) around this evening for a domestic smokey-drinky, the first one I’ve held.
Fantastic evening, good conversation and one and a half bottles of excellent Scotch consumed in the most enjoyable circumstances! And they all live close enough to be able to walk home.
What a great evening
Posted at 00.43am, and I can still type (just).
My problem is that after years of practice, I can type intelligibly after most of a bottle of whisky. Unfortunately, what I type is likely to be drunken gibberish. Grammatically correct gibberish, but gibberish nonetheless.
Li, you used to have a blogroll on the right on your old site that showed which blogs had recently been updated or posting new stuff. Is that possible for this site?
I don’t know yet. Working on it. That blogroll is still on the old site until I can get it sorted on this one.
Second that. I have kept both the old and new blogs on my favourites. Hopefully LI can get it sorted soon and I can delete one.
Leggy,
The comment above is not mine. It is the mentally unstable child writing shite. It’s all he is capable of.
CR.
CR – moderation is still on. You only see comments posted with your login details. They never actually appear.
Your blog is the first place I call each time I fire up my PC. It is beautifully clear and neat. And the content is pretty sh!t hot too. Thank you
“Pharma companies are private. In a liberal, democratic society respect for private property is a fundamental value.”
http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/business/Recession-hit_nations_owe_pharma_firms_billions.html?cid=32185254
That idea was blown when the smoking ban applied to private businesses. None of those pharma companies allow smoking on the premises – the point is that they now have no choice. They cannot decide what happens on their private property, neither can any business owner, and that was always going to extend beyond smoking. The smoking ban was simply proof of concept as far as extending State control into private business was concerned. The Pharmers were all in favour of it.
So now the pharma companies are claiming that private property rights are important. I call it karma.
And the same goes for the Pubcos when they just wanted a level playing field. They got it – in spades. Their business premises are ‘public places’ – no trade is safe from Holy Zealots of all kinds.
Exactly! They really didn’t think about where it would lead when they bankrolled the Righteous to drive a wedge through our rights. Do you think they’ve got it yet?
