Tipped by M. McF, in email, here is someone who should know stating this:
Tobacco tax more than pays for NHS health costs associated with smoking.
That was in 1997. Since then, tobacco costs have increased and the number of smokers has declined. If it was true then, it’s far more true now.
When Darth and her drones get wind of this, no doubt Winston Smith will be called out to deal with this errant bit of history. So it is forever preserved elsewhere.
Next time a drone tells you you’re costing the NHS money, point them to the Expert who has Said.
Then watch them squirm.
I make this point to various indiduals two or three times a week including once to my GP. The last time was to a female aquaintance who was apologising for smoking as she stubbed out her unfinished cigarette “coz it’s anti-social innit”. I did my best to unbrainwash her.
It’s not easy to break their conditioning. I prefer to drop a few hints and let them work their way into the grey matter gradually. Unfortunately, these days, many drones don’t have much grey matter.
