Smokers, have your say.

Over at the Octabber resistance blog, smokers are speaking out about their feelings about smoking and the current hate waged against them by petty-minded little drones.

There will be one post a day for the whole of Octabber and could possibly extend beyond that. So now is your chance to say your piece. Is it true that all smokers want to stop? Is it true that we only smoke because of pretty packets and because tobacco companies twisted our arms? Of course it’s not true but who are the drones listening to? Not us, that’s for sure.

Then again, so far, this has been because we aren’t saying much. We’re too damn relaxed by smoking!

Anyone can contact Octabber Resistance with their tale. It doesn’t have to be a long tale, it doesn’t have to be a complex tale.

The one advantage we have over the antismokers is that we aren’t making our stories up. Ours are true. Now is the time to get your smoketales out there. You can send them to Octabber Resistance through the email given on this page.

Now is the time to speak out. Before they silence us forever.

(I’m hoping to bag the Halloween spot but I bet there’ll be stiff competition!)

    • That possibility is becoming increasingly remote, Michael, with the emergence of the darknet (Tor). At the moment it’s fairly small, but it’s ease of use and ability to circumvent censorship means that with any further attempts at control of the internet it will grow and improve. Silk Road was only compromised by the naivety of it’s founder, not through any weaknesses of Tor. The internet has let the genie out of the bottle, and no matter how hard they try, TPTB won’t be able to stuff it back in.

And I say “Amen” to that.
